Organizational Benefits of TCC Membership

Membership in the Tamil Community Centre offers organizations a wide range of resources, connections, and opportunities to grow, collaborate, and make a lasting impact. Your involvement strengthens our community and advances our shared vision of creating a space where we can connect, celebrate, and grow together.

Membership Criteria

Criteria for Organization Members

To qualify as an Organization Member, an applicant must meet the following criteria:

A not-for-profit corporation operating in Ontario/Canada that:

  1. 1. Has been incorporated and operating for a minimum of two (2) years;
  2. 2. Conducts activities that serve the Tamil Community;
  3. 3. Has paid the membership dues in accordance with Section 2.02 of the By-law; and
  4. 4. Agrees to comply with the policies and procedures of the Corporation, as established by the Board from time to time.

Only organizations that meet all criteria above may apply.

1. Capacity Building Benefits
  • Workshops & Training: Access to periodic sessions on board governance, grant writing, marketing, community outreach, and financial accountability.
  • Resource Sharing: Use of a shared library of policies, templates, tools, and how-to guides tailored to grassroots and mid-sized organizations.
  • Leadership Development: Participation in TCC-hosted leadership labs or mentorship programs for executive directors, program managers, and youth leaders.
2. Networking Benefits
  • Member Summits: Invitations to in-person or virtual gatherings for collaboration, alignment, and updates across community sectors (e.g., youth, seniors, mental health, arts).
  • Member Directory & Referral System: Public listing in the TCC Member Directory to increase discoverability by users, funders, and peers.
  • Cross-Promotion Opportunities: Visibility through TCC's newsletter, social media, and event calendars.
  • Thematic Working Groups: Opt-in clusters organized by topic (e.g., health & wellness, arts & culture, education) to foster deeper collaboration.
3. Advisory Group Representation
  • Long-term Community Planning: Input into 5-year, 10-year, and 25-year community planning horizons.
  • Collaboration Principles: Development of governing principles for community collaboration.
4. Access to Shared Facilities
  • Priority Access: Priority and/or discounted rental access to TCC's physical spaces—including the auditorium, gymnasium, meeting rooms, and event halls.
  • Co-Hosting: Co-hosting of workshops, cultural events, and community programs in a professional and centralized facility.
5. Co-Branding & Recognition
  • Member Badge: Use of the TCC Member Organization badge.
  • Visibility: Visibility on the TCC website and donor recognition wall.
  • Spotlights: Features in newsletters, podcasts (e.g., Community Builders), and social media spotlights.
6. Programming Collaboration
  • Joint Programs: Opportunities to co-create and deliver joint programs (e.g., youth, seniors, wellness, arts).
  • TCC Support: TCC support through space, promotion, and coordination.
7. Funding & Grant Opportunities
  • Grant Alerts: Alerts for relevant grant opportunities and pooled applications.
  • Shared Fundraising: Access to shared fundraising initiatives, such as sector-based or multi-org proposals facilitated by TCC.
